Birds Found Around Mangalore
Mangalore is situated in Western Ghats of Karnataka state , India, Western Ghats is known for its richest population of flora and fauna.
My photography journey to click some birds in padavu village, puthur district of Mangalore started in December 25th 2019. I stayed with my senior colleague in his house which is situated in between lush green rubber forest .
it was mid of dry season and temperate was bit hot during day time. Sounds of different birds all through the day temped me to click them.
Malabar horn-bill was the first one to click soon after i reached in the morning, followed by White Rumped Shama and Racket tailed Drango.
Everyday i found new birds and clicked them - Plum head Parakeet, Vernal Hanging Parrot, Green Pigeon, yellow borrowed bulbul, golden oriole, black hooded oriole, black napped Monarch, blue flycatcher, Verditer fly catcher, paradise fly catcher, bar winged flycatcher shrike, Malabar barbet, white breasted barbet, Asian fairy blue bird, heart spotted woodpecker, Malabar pied horn-bill, orange minivet, ashy Drango, orange headed thrush, greenish warbler, long billed leaf warbler, purple sunbird, Malabar starling Malabar giant squirrel, flying Lizard, rat snake etc.
finally that was one fulfilled trip to know about many new birds in my list.
