Indian Nightjar is part of the nightjar family, it is a smaller one compared to other nightjars. They live in open land arears, completely camouflaged  among dry grass, dry leaves etc.

These are active during night times and they are nocturnal birds. you Can see these birds along the road sides or pathways. they get attracted towards artificial lights because they feed on insects, bugs, grasshoppers, flies, moths, crickets etc. which are found near artificial lights.

Indian nightjar is a ground breeding bird, they lay eggs on the ground and they don't have nesting.
