Ultraviolette F77 Ride
Journey to the Peaks
A Journey to Remember 💓
The elevated highway continued for another 35 kilometers, surrounded by forests on both sides. The shade from the trees provided some relief from the heat in many places. This stretch of the highway was a memorable part of the trip due to the serene environment it offered.
As I continued, the summer weather intensified to its peak. Fortunately, the highway remained relatively empty with minimal traffic. The heat waves were strong, but I managed to ride through it, ensuring I stayed hydrated with regular water breaks. The road conditions in these areas were decent, although there were some sections where the asphalt seemed to have melted due to the high temperatures.
The next charging stop wasn't planned, so I was actively looking for a suitable place. Initially, I considered going to Jabalpur, but it was a bit too far, so I decided to head to Narasingpur. After several hours of traveling, I entered the town from the highway and reached a Tata showroom. I inquired with them about the possibility of charging, but unfortunately, it was a small outlet, and they didn't have a 16 amp plug. This was a bit disappointing.
However, other shop owners in the complex noticed my situation and offered their assistance. One of them led me to a nearby building, which turned out to be a massive one and an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) where they teach about electric motors. We managed to find a suitable plug there, and the charging process began smoothly. It was a positive turn of events after the initial disappointment.
After plugging my bike in for charging, my kind host took me to his shop, where I could take a break and rest for a while. We engaged in a pleasant conversation, and he even offered me some chai served in a traditional mud cup. During our chat, I learned that he is the owner of the shopping complex and the ITI in the area, and the majority of the property is owned by his family. His name is Jeeth Singh, and he proved to be exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our interaction.
Jeeth Singh also introduced me to his brother, who works alongside him in their family businesses. They even had an EV scooter showroom within the complex, and we went to take a look. These gentlemen demonstrated a solid understanding of electric vehicles (EVs), and even though my Hindi was limited, we managed to communicate using some basic English, allowing them to explain various aspects of EVs to me.
The afternoon continued with more discussions and refreshments thanks to Jeeth's hospitality. We talked about his mud cup business, and he showed me various types of cups designed for chai, water, cold drinks, lassi, and more.
As the day progressed, I began to feel the effects of the summer heat. While I was hungry, the lack of nearby restaurants made it challenging to find food. I decided to skip lunch and focused on staying hydrated by drinking water and tea. Jeeth had to leave to have his lunch at home, and during this time, I attempted to catch some rest, even though the chair wasn't particularly comfortable for sleeping. The central Indian summer heat was certainly making its presence felt.
I managed to pass the remaining time, and by 4:15 pm, the charging process was complete. At 4:30 pm, I got ready to leave the place and expressed my gratitude to everyone who had been so friendly and helpful. Jeeth also kindly assisted me in contacting my next charging stop.
With everything in order, I set off for Sagar as planned, hitting the highway towards my next destination.
Since it was summertime, the sunset occurred later, around 6:45 pm. I took the opportunity to stop on the highway for a comfort break and to stay hydrated. I also captured some pictures of the sunset with my F77 on the highway.
By 7:15 pm, I reached Sagar and began searching for the charging location, which was supposed to be at a Tata showroom. However, the map led me through different routes and darker roads, which was a bit unsettling. The area was also experiencing heavy traffic.
After some confusion, I eventually found the Tata showroom in Sagar. Unfortunately, when I tried to enter, the security guard stopped me and said the showroom was closed and not allowing anyone inside. I tried to explain that I needed the charging facility, but he refused.
In this situation, I decided to call the showroom manager, Krishna, who proved to be very helpful. He spoke to the security guard and informed him to allow me to enter the showroom for charging.
During my time at the showroom, I made some new friends who checked my Instagram page and channels, wished me well, and engaged in friendly conversations. Suddenly, heavy winds and rain began, so I hurried to my bike and covered my charger. The security personnel were kind enough to provide me with a large cover to protect it from water splashes.
Afterward, I returned to the customer lounge, removed my riding suit, and relaxed. The security staff even assisted me in getting some dinner - chapati and dal - which was much needed as I hadn't eaten since morning. With everything sorted, I settled down for some sleep. Before leaving, the security guard informed me to rest well and leave whenever I felt ready. He also introduced the night shift security and gave me his mobile number in case of emergencies. Their help was greatly appreciated and made me feel grateful.
