Ultraviolette F77 Ride
Journey to the Peaks
A Journey to Remember 💓
The morning was beautiful and filled with excitement, knowing I would soon be traveling through the Himalayas. The highway was nearly empty, and there wasn't much traffic. I enjoyed the serene views, with sunflowers blooming in the fields to my left. The farming scenes were a delight to witness.
Climbing the Himalayan Ghats section around 10:45 am was a nostalgic experience. I couldn't resist taking some pictures of the beautiful scenery. The day was sunny with occasional clouds.
By 12:15 pm, I had reached Solan and called my friend Sanjeev. He shared his location, and with the help of Google Maps, I reached his place.
However, I initially went to the wrong location and found myself wandering around. Thankfully, my friend called me and provided guidance over the phone, leading me to the correct place. Finally, I met him, and it was a happy moment to reunite after a gap of 10 years. He hadn't changed a bit, and he warmly welcomed me and took me to his house.
The location of his house in the hilly area near Solan Railway Station posed a challenge. The house was situated slightly downhill, making it a bit tricky to bring the bike down. To address this, my friend took me to a nearby charging station near KFC. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to charge there as there were no available plug points. So, we returned to his house, and with some effort, we managed to take my bike down the steep slope and parked it on the narrow street near his house.
With the help of his younger son, we figured out a solution for charging. We found a geyser plug point inside his house, although it was quite far from where the bike was parked. This is where my trusty extension box came in handy again, and I successfully connected the bike for charging.
Afterward, my friend took me to have lunch, and I decided to get some rest in the afternoon.
After that rejuvenating sleep, I woke up around 7 pm and joined my friend's family for a chat. We reminisced about the Rotaract days and I shared stories from my ride experience. His kids were particularly curious about the bike and my journey.
Around 8 pm, I visited his shop, and together we went shopping for a few essentials. Since I was heading to a colder climate, it was the perfect opportunity to buy some warm clothing. We also picked up some medication for altitude sickness, although, as it turned out, I never needed it during the trip.
The streets were relatively traffic-free, and people were happily strolling around and enjoying themselves. After our shopping, we returned to his shop and met his father. I was fascinated by the collection of Kashmiri cloth materials he had, and he kindly gifted me a woolen shawl for my journey. It was a heartwarming and unforgettable moment.
